Location: Topsham, Exeter
Hours: 25+ per week
Salary: £9.55 - £12 per hour (depending on age/ experience)

REPORTS TO Manager, and Deputy
WORKING HOURS Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday 7.30am-4.30pm, 8am-5pm. 9am-6pm all year round
JOB OVERVIEW
Main Responsibilities:
To deliver and ensure a high-quality standard of learning, development and care for children aged 0-2 years old is delivered.
To ensure that the nursery is a safe environment for children, staff and others.
To develop partnerships with parents/carers to increase their involvement in their child’s development.
To take responsibilities to encourage children to learn through play.
To be responsible for the opening and closing of the nursery including packing away equipment and locking the building.
MAIN ACTIVITIES
To provide a safe, always caring and stimulating environment both indoors and outdoors.
To deliver appropriate play-based activities for children of ages 0-5, corresponding to our curriculum and developmental stage. Working alongside the EYFS, Early Years Foundation Stage
To organise and partake in a key person system
To help ensure the nursery meets Ofsted requirements
To work with other professionals in the local area for the benefit of the children and families.
To understand and work to nursery policies and procedures, including child protection, safeguarding, incidents, accidents, complaints, and emergencies.
To ensure records are properly maintained, e.g., daily attendance register, accident and incident book and risk assessments.
To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed, in accordance with the nursery aims and objectives.
Education and Qualifications
Minimum level 2 qualification in children’s childcare or relevant qualification, however non- qualified applicants would be considered, and an apprenticeship scheme can be offered.
Food hygiene, Paediatric first aid and safeguarding training will be given.
Ability to co ordinate in a specific specialist area e.g., SENCO or SAFEGUARDING
DBS enhanced certificate must be obtained.
Experience and Knowledge
Excellent working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and current Ofsted guidance.
Recent experience working in a childcare environment.
Skills and Attributes
